Initial thoughts on iPhone 4
Was able to pick up our new iPhones this morning and figured I would share my initial thoughts on it. Previously we have been using the iPhone 3G
- The ability to take HD video is not something we would normally be excited about, however given that we are expecting to bring a new baby boy into this world relatively soon, this feature is now all of a sudden quite mandatory.
- Music quality is noticeably better. To my ears, all the instruments seem clearer. The bass seems a little quieter, but this is compensated for by the fact it is much clearer. Will definitely be enjoying my MP3's a bit more than usual over the next week or so.
- Phone call sound quality is poorer. It seems to have some sort of active noise cancelling process which actually makes hearing the person on the other end of the phone more difficult.
- The screen is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Pictures look amazing, and websites are much easier to read without having to zoom in on the text.
- Chinese fonts are much much easier to read. In the past some traditional characters which formerly were impossible to even distinguish by someone who does not already know the character. Now just hold the phone a bit closer and I can make out every single stroke in detail.
- Much much faster, switching between a website and a chinese dictionary, or in and out of the screen to turn wireless on and off only takes a few seconds.
